Guidelines
The Lean Construction Blog is an educational blog with a mission to advance and promote Lean Construction around the world. Our goal is to spread knowledge about Lean Construction, encourage debate, create a knowledge sharing platform for the industry by the industry, develop a network of liked minded individuals, and inspire others to improve the way they manage their projects. We want to be the most trusted online resource for Lean Construction practitioners.
We do encourage Lean Construction Institute Chapters and Community of Practice to translate articles from the Lean Construction Blog to their language as a way to make the content more accessible to non-English speakers. Before you translate an article, please read and adhere to the guidelines below:
1) Before you translate any article, please write a request for that particular article to info@leanconstructionblog.com. We will grant permission on a case by case basis.
2) If you are running a blog for your community of practice, the translated articles from the Lean Construction Blog should be a supplement to your own content rather than the core of your content. We recommend that translated articles make up less than 10% of your blog's content. This way it encourages you to get the voices of local practitioners and develop your own unique content as well. We want each community of practice to develop their own local practitioners and experts. The LCB's content should be just the seed to help the community grow, not the main component of it.
3) When you translate a blog, always include the original author's name, photos, and bio. Please hyperlink to the author's personal page on the Lean Construction Blog. This is to show respect for the author's contribution. If available, please link to the author's Linkedin page as well so that your readers can connect with the author.
4) At the beginning of your published translated article, you need to include the note "This article was originally published on the Lean Construction Blog on [date of publication] by [author]". You will need to hyperlink to the original article on the Lean Construction Blog and the author's name needs to be linked to his or her page on the Lean Construction Blog.
