In this webinar Dick will compare and constrast IPD with Progressive Design Build for lean project delivery. He will explain the advantages of each system and help owners determine when to use one over the other.
IPD requires a good faith by everyone to challenge the GC. Pre-existing relationships can affect the IPD team's ability to collaborate. It also is very dependent on having a good team. PDB crystalizes a GMP and guarantee schedule. For PDB, validation occurs before the GMP and it is not as foreign as IPD for teams new to this contracting model.
The goal of the webinar is to give owners advice on when to use PDB and when to use IPD.
Presenter
Dick Bayer is the Vice President of Colliers Project Leaders and an Adjunct Professor at the Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management within the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. He is currently living in Ottawa working as the IPD/Lean Design and Construction Adviser for the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project, a proposed 12-year project to improve and renovate the Centre Block of the Canadian Parliament building campus.
