About Webinar

Join Jason Klous and Phil Zittel in an engaging conversation that explores how the Language Action Perspective (LAP) transforms communication in construction and design, and how it can enhance lean implementation on projects. Drawing on real-world case studies and research conducted on projects, this session will reveal how conversations can be used to build and repair trust, manage moods, and enable teams to move beyond coordination failures, ultimately building high-trust, high-performance team cultures and resilient teams. Learn how integrating LAP into lean frameworks like the Last Planner System and Target Value Delivery can produce clear communication, reliable commitments, and a culture of ambition and possibility on your project.

Participants will also learn how we use the Enneagram and LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® to help teams understand each other more deeply and produce better conversations. The Enneagram helps team members uncover their listening habits, conflict triggers, and ways of being, which are essential insights for making and keeping reliable promises. LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® opens teams up to new conversations and gives teams a physical, visual language to surface hidden assumptions, clarify intent, and build alignment in real time. Together, these tools support the creation of conversations that lead to new possibilities and new ways of working together.

This is not just a conversation about theory—it’s a practical framework for doing better project work, together.

Presenter

Jason believes that actions are shaped by the conversations we participate in, and that our commitments determine our future. As a principal at Midion, his work is grounded in the belief that we can design better futures by rethinking how we coordinate, communicate, and engage with one another. He views organizations as networks of commitments where trust and moods are essential to generating meaningful outcomes.

Jason's role at Midion extends beyond traditional leadership; she focuses on opening up new spaces for action. He works with teams and organizations to shift their conversations, transforming the way they engage with challenges, design their futures, and create alignment between their commitments and outcomes. He has dedicated her career to helping individuals and organizations uncover these possibilities, break down barriers to effective collaboration, and move from reactive problem-solving to designing their desired future. At Midion, Jason creates the clearing for these actions to unfold, fostering environments where commitments are transparent, conversations are intentional, and the future is something we create together.

Phil is an Associate Principal at Midion, where he brings over two decades of architectural and building information modeling expertise to organizational transformation work. As a licensed architect and LEED Accredited Professional, Phil has extensive experience across diverse market sectors, having contributed to both international and national projects throughout his career.

His expertise in building information modeling led him to specialize as a BIM Manager at Advanced Volumetric Alliance and as an Architect & BIM Specialist at McGough Construction, where he spent nearly twelve years helping shape the intersection of technology and construction.
